Millers Falls Hand Drills

Millers Falls Hand Drill No. 2-A, 1957-Transitional with Tigerwood Handle

This is one of the rarest version of No 2 drill I have seen. The combination of smooth frame,  tigerwood handle, and contrasting colors of black, red and brass makes this dill one of the most beautiful.

There is a significant difference in the material used for construction of this drill in comparison to later models of No. 2A-1957. I have written an article about MF No. 2A-1957 Transitional model here.

This release went into production in 1957.  Millers Falls catalog describes this drill as:

Single speed hand drill with two pinions. Iron frame is enameled black. Drive gear is painted red. Tropical hardwood main handle with hollow storage for drill bits and cap. "Chef's cap" side handle.

Ball thrust bearing on spindle. Three-jaw, spring chuck adjustable from 0 to 3/8 inch. Bright parts nickel plated.
