Millers Falls No 7 Hand Drill-1921 model

Catalog description:

 

Solid steel frame, metal parts polished and large gear enameled red.  Machine-cut gears.  Idle pinion for equalizing ball bearing.  Steel pinion.  Patented spring chuck with capacity of 0 to 3/8 inch.

 

Stained hardwood handles.  Mushroom-shaped side handle is detachable.  Main handle solid hard wood.

 

Length - 13 1/3 inches.  Weight - 2 lbs.

 

Comments:  It is an intermediate drill, somewhere between No. 5 and No. 2.  It is a bit shorter and lighter then No. 2.  The gear and pinions are the same as on No. 2.  Very well balanced drill.

Fully restored:

Drill was fully disassembled - gear, spindle, bearing, chuck, handles – all was taken apart. Cleaned, striped, frame and other moving parts cleaned and polished.  Main gear re-painted and baked. Wood on all handles cleaned and sanded.  Main, crank and side handle stained with red mahogany and painted with three layers of lacquer for final coating.  Greased, oiled, tuned and checked. Superb tool! Great addition to your toolbox or collection. Lovely Tool!
