Millers Falls Hand Drill No 303 – 1915 model - Very Nice!

Single speed hand drill introduced sometime around 1913.

Millers Falls catalog describes this drill as follows:

Built on solid steel frame with two pinions and large gear. Hollow main handle made of hardwood stained with red mahogany. Frame nickel plated. Large gear painted red. Sides, detachable handle in a mushroom shape. Offset crank handle. Three-jaw spring-less chuck capable of holding bits 0 to 3/16 inch. Length – 11 ¼ inches.

 

 

 

Fully restored: 

Frame cleaned and polished, drive gear striped and re-painted.  Wood on all handles cleaned.  Side and crank handle sanded, re-stained with red mahogany and painted with 3 layers of lacquer.  Main handle sanded and re-stained with red mahogany and topped of with 3 layers of lacquer.  All gear tight and smooth. Super nice!  Works very well.

Chuck disassembled, cleaned inside and out.  All inside surfaces polished, including jaws – for smooth operation.  Greased, oiled, tuned and checked.  Great addition to your toolbox or collection.  Lovely Tool!
