Quite often visitors to our websites ask us to estimate value of their vintage or antique tool.  We decided to offer this service and formalize the process a bit.

Here at Woodworking Tools Appraisal Service I will carefully examine your pictures and give you details about the tool, it's general uses, and approximately where and when it was made.  Plus a good working idea of value, either auction, retail or what you should consider for insurance purposes.  Contact Scott

Here is what I offer:

• Casual appraisals from pictures and description.  In most cases this will be for your personal benefit or orientation on price range for specific item, collectability and condition of the item.

• More specific and formalized work, including detailed and legally acceptable appraisals for estates or insurance claims.  This will apply to single item or full collection.

• If you find you need estate planning or an insurance claim, with court acceptable documents prepared, write and tell us your story.  If photographs just won't do (sometimes we need to see all sides and details in the higher price range tools or large volumes of tools) and the appraisal is important enough, I will travel to your location and give it full attention until the matter is resolved.  A retainer will be required.  Travel and related expenses are non refundable but the same satisfaction guarantee holds on the appraisal work itself.

Rates:

• Flat rate casual appraisals of single items from pictures and description - $25.00

• For in-depth research or appraisals we charge by the hour.  Please contact us for more information.

If I can't appraise it, your fee will be fully refunded.  Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
